My secretary called in this morning from the hospital. She had to take her husband to the emergency room last night, he was so sick that he could barely walk on his own.
They finally determined this morning after lots of tests that he has salmonella poisoning and they think he will be in the hospital for several days because they need to pump fluids back into him using an IV. So I won’t have a secretary for most of this week, as she obviously needs to be with him at the hospital.
From what I heard on the news, the FDA suspects that fresh tomatoes are somehow tainted by the salmonella and they are making grocery stores and restaurants pull their fresh tomatoes off the shelves until they can find the source of a huge outbreak of this poisoning.
