Strep Throat and an Amputee

I just heard the strangest story on CNN.  It was a story about a man who came down with strep throat and ended up an amputee because of it.  In fact he lost both of his legs due to the strep throat virus.  It started off as a sore throat like strep throat often does and he ignored it.  Often times we all do this hoping that we will get better on our own.

Once he realized that he wasn’t getting better he went to a doctor.  Unfortunatley the news wasn’t good and he ended up spending 2 months in the hospital.  His doctor was quoted as saying some people can’t fight off infections like others can.  When he was realized from the hospital he was without 2 legs.  He is in good spirits though and said that he is just happy to be alive.

Homecity.com

My cousin and his wife are getting ready to make a big move from Michigan all the way to Texas.  His job is transferring him down there and it is up to him to find a home to move into.  Feeling the pressure of moving across the country let alone keeping up with work can be a little stressful.  Fortunately enough for them they ran across a great website showing different views of property of the Austin, Texas area.  The site is called round rock texas real estate .

Not only does it show aerial pictures, photographs as well as slide shows of thousands of properties but it almost feels like you are right there looking.  It is truly amazing.  You can ask questions over the internet, take a tour of the property and actually be connected to a realtor to assist you.  It is nice to know that some companies have thought of everything when it comes to easing the stress of making a big move.

Good News

It is so nice to read a good news story once in awhile.  I just read about the little boy out in Las Vegas that was kidnapped from his home about 5 days ago.  The great part of this story was that he was found!  I guess the kidnappers had let him go and a man driving a bus spotted him walking down the sidewalk.

Too bad they haven’t released much information about the story.  There has been nothing said yet about where he was for those days he was missing.  Hopefully they will fill us all in when the information is found out.  They greatest part of this story, besides the boy being found, has got to be the fact that the bus driver was not afraid to get involved and help out.  A lot of times we are too busy or too tired or just in such a hurry that we don’t notice when someone needs help.  Thank goodness that there are people like this bus driver still in this world.
