The Inauguration

Living in DC you seem to forget how fortunate you are. Especially when history is being made right in your own backyard. With the inauguration around the corner I have become well aware of how lucky I am to be living in the nations capital. Not only are all the hotels full for that weekend, but people are renting out places to stay for huge amounts of money. One hotel I called that is about an hour from DC told me there rooms were going for $500. that night. I also heard that places close to DC, for example Arlington, are being rented for thousands. It seems crazy but this election is one that will go in history as a turning point for America.

Water Restoration

Some companies like to brag about their great service. Some companies guarantee the best service around. Isn’t it nice to know that some of these companies follow through on their promises they offer. One in particular is water restoration . They are available to you 24/7 on their toll free phone lines, and in some areas will be on the scene in 30 minutes. How nice is it to know that they are always ready and willing to help. When it comes to certain things like water damage you don’t want to wait too long before getting help. Problems like these need to be addressed right away. It’s good to know companies like Water Restoration911 is always there.

Bank Robbery in Maryland

Yesterday afternoon on my way to work I heard that there had been a bank robbery in Maryland.  It was so serious that the schools out in that district where it happened were on lockdown.  One of the tellers at the bank supposedly got shot in the hand.  The three men got away on foot but one ended up getting shot by a cop and died.  The other two were still on the loose by the time I got to work.

About a week ago a group of us at work were talking about how the crime rate would probably go up since everyone is struggling with money.  One mentioned muggings would happen more often and somebody else mentioned bank robberies.  I’m hoping yesterday was just a solo incident and others who are thinking about this will think twice since somebody lost their life trying to steal money.

Skateboards

I was just looking at this website for skateboards called skateboard complete.  My little nephew is into skateboarding and I wanted to come up with a Christmas present for him that he didn’t already have.   I loved the fact that this website offers everything related to skateboarding.  It even shows you how to build your own skateboard.  I know Trevor will love that.  The other cool thing is you can even buy skateboard ramps on this site.  It really is a one stop shop when it comes to anything and everything you could want related to skateboarding. Take a look for yourself at www.warehouseskateboards.com.

A Tough Decision

I was looking at the news online and a story caught my attention about a mom out in Nebraska.  She is in a bad situation with her 13 year-old son.  She claims it has gotten so bad that she is ready to drop him off at the Safe Haven down the street from where they live.  It has become such a scary world when your 13 year-old son scares you so bad that you feel that you have to drop him off.

The article went into certain incidents that have been happening at the house.  One in particular that she mentioned was that he will stay up at night and watch her while she is sleeping.  That is something I think she should be afraid of.  Other things included alcohol and cigarettes.  After hearing some stories like these it really makes you think twice about ever having children.
