This has been an interesting day.  I had the day off but got nothing done that I had planned to.  I had a couple of projects for work to do that I didn’t even get a chance to start.  It’s really no big deal since I have tomorrow off as well.  This morning I got a phone call from an old friend that I haven’t talked to in a long time.  I ended up going over to visit him today.  It was such a great visit and I ended up spending a good 2-3 hours talking with him.  Then I got stuck in traffic.  When I finally arrived home I had an email waiting from another old friend.  I swear this was an interesting day.  Unfortunately I received an email from her because she had just lost her job from a company she has been with for 13 years.  I was shocked and saddened by the news.  I think tonight I’m going to try to go to bed early so I can pray for friends and family and also give thanks for everything I have in my life right now.

I don’t know what it is but it seems like everytime I turn on the news these days there is a story about a shooting.  Most of the stories I have been reading recently involve a shooting spree that involves anywhere from a family or 5 up to fifteen people who got shot.  It is ridiculous the insanity that is out there.  On top of that as I was falling asleep last night I heard that a judge had let an accussed killer go free.  The young man was being charged with stabbing someone to death and the judge let him walk out of the courthouse.  He was trying to proof a point!  How ridiculous is that?  I can’t wait to hear what will become of this case.  I’m sure I wasn’t the only one outraged by it.  I have nothing more to say I’m disgusted with our justice system.

Tonight at work a friend of mine was talking about a car accident he had gotten into.  What had actually happened was he let his friend drive his car because he was too drunk and his friend got into the accident.  This is where the case becomes pretty blurry.  The insurance company is refusing to pay for any of the damages because the insured person was not driving.

The lawyer has already made it clear to him that he has no chance of winning this case.  The driver hit the car in front of him and got out and started walking away from the scene.  I’m worried about my friend because he is going to be held liable for the cost of the damage.  Plus he was drinking!  It’s so unfortunate sometimes it is better to just stay home!
