A lot of people wait until the end of the year to decide how much they will donate to charities. Sometimes it depends upon the amount of the annual bonus check. Sometimes it depends on how much money they end up spending on Christmas gifts.
I’m hoping to make a generous contribution to an animal rescue organization. These are the people who rescue dogs from puppy mills and find proper homes for the animals. I saw them in action this summer and was very much impressed.
My heart goes out to animals, especially dogs, and hope that some day in the future there will no longer be a need for animal rescue groups because people will be more responsible with their pets, they will have them spayed and neutered, and will not allow them to reproduce for the sake of selling them from puppy mills.
I wonder what people think the term “leash laws” means? Perhaps they are under the impression that it means everyone else’s dogs must be kept on a leash, but that their own precious pooches are exempt? Maybe they think that a dog running loose in their own yard will never leave the yard and bite someone going for a jog or riding a bicycle down their street?Maybe they think that a leash is only required when you take the dog out in public away from your house?
I say that a leash law means that any time a dog leaves the interior of your home, even to go in your own front yard, that dog should have a leash on it. A leash is the only way you can know for sure that the dog will not run out of your yard and bite someone passing by. It is part of being a responsible dog owner and t is the law in most cities.
It was a short battle. I believe the cat won this round. Stay tuned for more developments between now and Christmas morning.
