    Losing your job

    Filed under: Business;

    I wonder what it is like to be laid off.  The feeling must be similar to being fired.  Although hopefully you leave on good terms instead of bad ones.  Yesterday at my job they began to lay people off.  It is going to happen for the next couple of days as well.  I didn’t think our company was struggling, but sometimes you can’t see everything that is going on.

    One person that I work with that got laid off has been with the company for 13 years.  I wonder if his salary was too high and we couldn’t afford to keep him any longer.  I have never been real business minded but I’m assuming that is what happened.  Anyhow I know his salary well exceeded $150,000 per year.  What happens now?  How do some people manage to get by with an unexpected situation like that?

    Graduating the typical way from a four-year college is the route I took.  Unfortunately I have always wanted to get my masters degree as well but find that working full-time does not allow me the flexibility to go back to school to do that.  My work hours are different everyday and I find it hard to schedule things outside of work, like a class for example.  I decided to search the internet for online schools to see what I would come up with.  I was shocked at the degrees that were offered online.  Some of which include Healthcare, Business School, Criminal Justice just to name a few.  online degree allowed me to search for exactly what I was looking for while offering so many options.

    They had programs for Undergraduate Degrees and well as Graduate, certificates, Associates, Doctoral Degrees, etc.  This website was amazing.  Not only did they offer every type of degree but the course of study was included liberal arts to healthcare and everything in between.  With the economy the way it is now I would highly recommend to everyone to get back into school.  The job market has become more competitive, the salary you need to survive these days requires a degree, etc.  See for yourself at www.degreehound.com.

    Problems with my credit cards are beginning to worry me. It is the typical day to day stress of high credit card bills that a lot of people are dealing with. For some reason it seems like the debt has gotten out of hand. I am afraid and have even started losing sleep over it. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Well you are not alone I am feeling the strain as well as a lot of my friends. In fact we are all working 2-3 jobs right now just to stay above water. I don’t think that life was suppose to be like this. Every waking hour working to pay you minimum due in credit card bills. Today I decided to do some research into the debt relief programs.

    The site I found that I am going to get into contact with is Debt Relief. The reason is because the website spelled out the whole process for me and made it less intimidating. It gave a number of questions and answers right there for you so when you call you don’t feel like you’re in the dark and getting into something that will hurt you and your credit in the future. In fact freedom debt relief will actually help you fix your credit once your credit card debt is paid off. If you are in my situation and feel as though you are drowning in debt without an end to site so to freedomdebtrelief.com. You will not regret it.

    I just read an article about the top 10 most ugly (that was the word they used) buildings and monuments. I was afraid to look at first being a proud American living in Washington D.C. Fortunately enough none of the monuments listed were in D.C. and only two were in the United States. One was in Massachusetts and the other in New York.

    Some of the monuments listed included LuckyShoe Monument in Finland and the Metropolitan Cathedral in England. Who would have thought a Cathedral could make a list of one of the worlds most unattractive buildings?! They did mention that the interior of the cathedral is beautiful though. Some others included the Scottish Parliament Building and a Statue of Peter the Great in Russia. Just this article alone raised my curiosity in visiting a few of these monuments since pictures were not included.

    I was just on-line reading the news when I stumbled across Dear Abby.  For some reason I stopped and read through them remembering back when my mom use to read her faithfully every Sunday morning.  She was addicted to the stories that would come in from all of the U.S. and the advice that Abby would give these people.  Being a guy it is kind of hard to relate to these stories but one did catch my attention.

    It was about a woman who has an 8 month old baby.  She stated that she had always wanted to be a stay at home mom and now that she was she is miserable and bored.  She want on to say that playing with the baby is driving her nuts.  Abby’s advice to her was to seek help from a doctor because it might be related to depression.  I don’t know anymore it seems like everyone is finding it hard to be content.  When somebody has everything they have ever wanted and are still not happy that scares me.
