    With the holiday season coming up it makes you think about the past holidays and the fun times spent with friends and family.  I love this time of the year for that reason, plus I no longer live near my family so sending presents and remembering Christmas from years past is wonderful.  Last year I sent out about 20 presents across the country.  I’m sure the same thing is going to happen this year only I am going to purchase gifts online and have them sent directly.  That way it will save me a lot of time and expense.  I found a website that will send roasted nuts for free (2 day shipping) with a card attached.  How great is that all the work is done.

    The best part about this website nut gifts allows you to customize the gift.  They are not all done and prepackaged for you.  I am so excited to be sending these home to my parents.  One tradition that we have held throughout the years is playing cards.  At the card table we always have peanuts and alcohol.  I don’t know why it is just what we do.  I know how happy my parents are going to be when they open up their gift of roasted nuts just in time for the big card game.  What a great Christmas this is going to be.

    Is it just me or are we all feeling like we could use a vacation right about now? I have never been more in need of a vacation. I know the reason why I am feeling this way. The economy for one, the cold weather that has just hit the area I live in, and the whole crisis the country is feeling due to money and politics. Thank goodness I still have a job, and thank goodness I have vacation hours I need to use up before the end of the year. I know money is tight but I found an amazing website with beaches that are unbelievable and booked a vacation. The website is called Kissimmee vacation homes. My first stop will be in Florida at http://rentalo.com/vacation-rentals/siestakey/. Then I am headed off to http://rentalo.com/vacation-rentals/breckenridge/ to do what I do best sit by a fireplace and drink and ski of course. I figured I have two weeks worth of vacation why not make the most of it.

    If the stress has been getting to you too take a look for yourself at this website http://rentalo.com and book your next getaway. It’s fast, affordable, and easy to do and you wont regret it.<img src=”http://tinyurl.com/65z6fp” />

    Another tragic story is currently in the news concerning an eight year-old boy.  I’m sure you all know the story I am referring to since it is so tragic it has been a headline on all the major news websites.  The story plays out like something you would see on a late night TV show.  An eight year-old boy is being held in connection with the murders of his father and another man who lived at his house.  It appears that both men were shot in daylight hours by this young man.

     The story gets a little twisted though because the boy admitted to the crime but has since changed his story.  He now states that he came home to find his roommate and father shot to death.  The police are also getting a bad rap for not giving the boy his legal rights to have an attorney or parent present.  As more information on the case comes out I will include it on my blogs.

    The Media

    Filed under: Entertainment, Family;

    This is a funny subject for a guy to write about but I just don’t understand the fascination my wife has with those tabloid magazines. One story in particular that has been written about for years she can’t read enough about. It is the Jennifer Aniston/ Angelina Jolie fight over Brad. I mean hasn’t enough time passed by now where Jennifer can get over it.

    I just feel that Angelina and Brad are doing so much good in the world together that maybe they were meant to be together. These two are helping all of those children that are up for adoption, the poor in foreign countries as well as here, etc. I think they make a great team. They bring out the best in each other and continue to help everyone else as well. Jennifer will find someone too just give her sometime.

    I just read an article about the top 10 most ugly (that was the word they used) buildings and monuments. I was afraid to look at first being a proud American living in Washington D.C. Fortunately enough none of the monuments listed were in D.C. and only two were in the United States. One was in Massachusetts and the other in New York.

    Some of the monuments listed included LuckyShoe Monument in Finland and the Metropolitan Cathedral in England. Who would have thought a Cathedral could make a list of one of the worlds most unattractive buildings?! They did mention that the interior of the cathedral is beautiful though. Some others included the Scottish Parliament Building and a Statue of Peter the Great in Russia. Just this article alone raised my curiosity in visiting a few of these monuments since pictures were not included.
