I say, equal time for THURSDAYS! There is nothing to do on a Thursday night- it is too early to start the weekend partying, and its the day before payday so no one has any money to spend. I say, let Thursday be the new movie night!

The Academy Awards is on tonight. I haven’t seen a single one of the films that are being nominated. I frankly can’t afford to spend $10 – $15 per person to go see a movie in the theaters any more. I don’t go to the movies alone, so my out of pocket is anywhere from $20 to $40 for two of us to see one movie. They charge extra for 3D movies, and all the new movies seem to be coming out in a 3D version.

It will be interesting to see which movies win the Oscars tonight. I’m looking forward to watching most of them – when they come out on DVD.

I’m looking forward to some great new action films, like the new Star Wars and the new Terminator. In a few weeks the new Transformers will be in theaters. This will be a summer of big movies, I can already tell.

I woke up early yesterday morning and decided to turn the T.V. on for a few minutes. I couldn’t fall back asleep so I was hoping to find something entertaining on. As luck would have it I saw a great movie. It was called 21 and was based on a true story. It revolved around the case of 4 college boys taking over Vegas by learning how to count cards. When I say taking over Vegas I believe they made something over a million dollars in BlackJack. For a skill that takes a few months to master that aint too bad. The movie is great especially if you’re into gambling.

I saw an interesting movie this morning about one of the greatest composers vonBeethoven. The story chronicles his life from when he was first starting out producing music until his death. The intersting parts included his references to God and his relationship with a young woman named Anna. I don’t know much about his life or if parts of the movie were just added to make it more interesting, but I have to say that now I am interested in finding out more about Beethoven. In the movie it mentioned that at one point he had lost his hearing as well. I don’t think I have ever heard that before. I am going to do further research and hopefully read his biography to get a better idea of his struggles and passions.

The other day I watched that movie What Women Want for the second time. It’s hard to admit that I watch any movie more than once, of course unless it’s Star Wars or any action flick. For some reason as I was flipping through the channels I stopped on What Women Want with Mel Gibson and I suffered through it again.

The fate of Nick (Mel Gibson) has got to be the worst luck any man could have. He actually has the ability to hear what women are thinking. I think this is one power I would rather not have. I like to believe that all women want me and that I am the greatest guy in the world. I will just continue to believe this until I hear otherwise.

Stopped by a friends house the other day and he and his wife were just starting this movie called Sicko by Michael Moore that pointed out a lot of things we need to change here in America, one of them being medical care for all our citizens. How can we take care of other countries we when we can not even take care of our own people? So, in my opinion, we need to stop funding other countries until we can take care of every American citizens health care.

Why are we spending 45 billion dollars on AIDS drugs to fight in AIDS in Africa when we have sick people here in the United States with no way to get medicine? It is time we made tough choices: them or us? I am voting for us, because this movie just made me sick to my stomach when I saw how our citizens are being treated and forced into debt while other countries give away free health care and free schooling. Makes you wonder who is free and who are slaves in this World of ours?
