Brownies! Brownies!

Something about brownies coming out of the oven just screams “Pour a tall glass of cold milk right now and eat me!”

I bought a box mix to make brownies and it has been sitting in the pantry forever. Tonight I decided to make them for a nice snack after dinner. They turned out great and I had to hide a couple in the back of the cabinet to make sure that I have a couple left to take to work with me tomorrow.

Turkey, Parades and Football

Its nice to have a day off from work. Thankfully, I am getting paid for the day, which I get to spend watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and then football.

Then I will feast on a turkey breast, with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and a green bean casserole topped with french fried onions.

My dessert choice is pecan pie. I am going to pass on the pumpkin pie this time and push that back to Christmas dinner, instead.

Meatloaf

Some days I am at a restaurant and I wish there was meatloaf on the menu. I get tired of the same old steak/chicken/burgers variety. I want meatloaf – like my mom used to make. And mashed potatoes and peas. With apple pie for dessert. I miss my mom’s meatloaf dinners.

Turkey Sandwiches

As much as I like to have turkey for dinner, I like turkey sandwiches even better. We have turkey more than the average family’s annual turkey at Thanksgiving. I bet Cameron buys a frozen turkey at least once a month. Sometimes she buys a whole turkey so I can have hot dark meat for dinner. But most of the time she buys a turkey breast, which is cheaper and faster to cook, and there is enough left over after dinner for sandwiches a few more days.

Frozen Lemonade

One of the best parts of summer is all the exciting beverages that you can make and enjoy. I love frozen lemonade and just about anything with lemon in it, like sweet iced tea with lemon. I was glad to see McDonalds has added a frozen lemonade with strawberries to their menu. I’ll have to give that a taste soon.
