    I just heard the strangest story on CNN.  It was a story about a man who came down with strep throat and ended up an amputee because of it.  In fact he lost both of his legs due to the strep throat virus.  It started off as a sore throat like strep throat often does and he ignored it.  Often times we all do this hoping that we will get better on our own.

    Once he realized that he wasn’t getting better he went to a doctor.  Unfortunatley the news wasn’t good and he ended up spending 2 months in the hospital.  His doctor was quoted as saying some people can’t fight off infections like others can.  When he was realized from the hospital he was without 2 legs.  He is in good spirits though and said that he is just happy to be alive.

    I just started a new job tonight at a health club.  I am working there on a very part-time basis.  I already work full-time but I just needed something to supplement my income.  It is a pretty scary thing when one full-time job doesn’t pay all the bills.  Anyhow the job is great I really love it!

    Of course I just started so we will see how it goes.  So far everyone seemed really sweet and helpful.  The best part of the whole gig is that I get a free membership to work-out whenever I want.  The club is open 24/7 so that is great.  There is a restaurant, 2 pools, a hot tub, etc.  you name it this club has got it.  I cannot wait to go back in tomorrow.  I’ll keep you posted on how it is going.

    Talk about having passion for your favorite sport.  I just read the story about a man named Trevor who decided to have one of his fingers amputated instead of having surgery in order to continue playing football.  He plays for a college out in Colorado and decided to have his injured pinky finger partially removed so he could continue to play throughout this season.

    During the interview he said that the doctors told him he needed to be rational and think about what he was doing.  He told them to cut it off and hasn’t regretted that decision.  He said he would rather play football than have to give up his favorite sport due to an injury.  I think it’s great he was able to make this decision without any regret.

    Infrared Saunas

    Filed under: Health;

    How many things in life offer health benefits and comfort as well? Often times you will find that anything that benefits your health requires hard work or giving up something you love. For example, losing weight typically involves eating less of your favorite foods and working out for hours on end. The same thing goes for improving your overall health which usually requires you to stop smoking, drinking, etc. Basically in order to become healthier you must change everything you are currently doing.

    What if I told you that there was a better way to improve your health which didn’t require a complete lifestyle change? Well there is a way and it is called infrared lights you receive from saunas. The health benefits you receive from these saunas are amazing. You will notice relieve from everything including weight loss to alleviating symptoms of sore throats, arthritis, asthma, etc. The list goes on and on. Good thing the election is coming up soon.  I know there are alot of important issues that are going to need to be addressed during the next presidential term.  I am sure glad that they made health insurance one of them.  I can’t believe how hard it is to get answers and advice when it comes to health insurance.

    The reason this is coming up now is because I switched jobs recently which means my health insurance plan changed as well.  I didn’t think it would be a big deal but slowly and surely it is turning into one.  Like I said earlier I am sure glad the election is coming up soon.  Let’s work on getting this problem resolved along with all the others.
